DIRECTOR

ED VINEY
Ed was Assistant Director at Chichester Festival ’08 where he assisted on The Circle and the premiere of Aristo by Martin Sherman. He has worked for local companies Theatre West and Show of Strength and previously directed Nuts and Derby Day at the Alma Tavern. He recently directed the rehearsed reading of Painting Snails by Peter Kesterton as part of the Bristol Old Vic New Writing Festival. For 2007-08 he was the Assistant Director on the UK tour of South Pacific which played at the Bristol Hippodrome as well as 34 other venues across the UK. He trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and was educated at Royal Holloway, University of London, and gained a Master’s degree in Contemporary British History from Queen Mary & Westfield, University of London.

ACTORS

ANGIE BELCHER
Angie Belcher is a Bristol based actor and stand-up poet.She also a comedy Producer and directs, acts and writes for The Comedy Rocket Sketch Collective in Bristol. Her stand up poetry show “ Natural Girl “ is touring currently and she can be seen next at Bath Comedy Festival.

SARAH BUCKLAND
Sarah trained and worked in London before returning to Bristol where she has been working in theatre with a variety of companies and in film and TV often on location in the South West. This is the first time she’s worked with Show Of Strength and is excited about the Trading Local project.”

KIM HICKS
Bristol born and bred, Kim has enjoyed a wide-ranging career, working for radio, TV, in film and on stage. Trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School she has become best known for her one woman shows. Courtship –scenes from the novels of Jane Austen (launched 1981), Couples? –short stories and poetry by Dorothy Parker (launched 1982) and All Aboard –Victorian diaries written on board the SS Great Britain (launched 1999).– Kim has had a long association with Show Of Strength , she was (An Audience with) Sarah Guppy (2007) and was part of the TRADE IT? company (2008).

KATE MCNAB
Kate began her career singing with jazz harmony group Sweet Substitute, touring such shows as Hooray For Hollywood, Stardust Road, Fabulous Fats Waller and Basin Street to Broadway. She started at The Bristol Old Vic playing Gwen in Up The Feeder – Down the Mouth, Spot in the 2001 dockside version, Mrs. Fezziwig in ‘A Christmas Carol’ and Lily in ‘Myrtle on the Mainline’. For Crisp Theatre she played Bet in Godber’s ‘April in Paris’ and, for Show of Strength, Avril in Peter Nichols’ own production, ‘Nicholodeon’. Apart from dying on Casualty Kate has toured all eight shows for Ministry of Entertainment, the latest being ‘Goodbye Mrs. Chips’.

OLIVER MILLINGHAM
Oliver has worked in both Bristol and London since graduating from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Credits include THE HEART OF THOMAS HARDY (BBC One), AN UNCHOREOGRAPHED WORLD (BBC Radio Four) and “Player Queen” and “Fortinbras” in Jonathan Miller’s HAMLET, SHAKESPEARE AT THE TOBACCO FACTORY. Oliver established the Upstairs at The Lansdown theatre with the premiere of a play he wrote and directed in August 2008 and is the co-director of the Script Space at the TOBACCO FACTORY.
Oliver studied Psychology at St Andrew’s University, lived in New Zealand and Japan, worked in the Phillippines and in orphanages in Romania.

CHRIS YAPP
Chris is from Bristol he trained at Welsh College of Music & Drama and has since worked in theatre, radio and TV. He has toured nationally and internationally with the Young Shakespeare Company, Walking Forward Theatre Company and BBC Playdays’ (UK No1 Tour). He played Puck in Midsummer Nights Dream(Egg Theatre, Bath Theatre Royal) and worked on a season at the Chichester Festival Theatre working on Three sisters, On the Razzle and A life in Theatre. BBC Radio includes Windsor Jewels, Cast in Stone, Looking for the sun and Invitation to the waltz.
