Show Of Strength’s hugely successful outdoor show, with Love, Sex and Violence on the Streets of Bedminster returns, shows on Sat 26 April (free for BS3 residents), Sat 3 May and Sat 10 May.

In WHY DON’T WE DO IT IN THE ROAD? Tour Guides Kim Hicks and Chris Yapp introduce you to a host of local, real life characters who tell their extraordinary-but-true stories. Meet Charlie Stephens, the barber who went over Niagara Falls in a barrel; Princess Caraboo, who’s buried in Hebron Burial Ground; and Aldred Daw Collard, the poet butcher of North Street…
2 separate 45 minute walks on Saturdays 26 April, 3 May and 10 May
- 11am — starts at The Steam Crane, 4-6 North Street, BS3 1HT (junction with Canon Street), ends noon at The Tobacco Factory, Raleigh Road, BS3 1TF
- 2pm — starts at The Masonic, 110 North Street, BS3 1HF (opposite Gaywood House flats), ends 3pm St Catherine’s Precinct, East Street, BS3 4HG
Each walk covers approximately one mile and all on the flat. A few steps near the burial ground but generally accessible. Loos at the start & at points on the way.
Cost: one show £3, both shows £5.
No advance booking, pay on arrival (cash only). Do both shows on the same day or on different Saturdays (still just £5 if you pay in advance). You’ll see lots of great places for lunch and shopping as you explore Bedminster past and present.
